Here's another keyword table with some of the vocabulary from recent lessons here on the blog. It's always useful to make keyword tables, no matter how easy the vocabulary might seem.

Tips

simon建議每段（1+2+3+3 sentences）
task 1有一個很大的禁忌是－－絕對不能寫自己的想法，所以總結是不需要的，你或許會讀到一些教法叫你要包含conclusion，但這裡的conclusion就是Simon的overview，所謂根據題目給的資訊理出最重要的趨勢，而不是根據自己的想法寫下的總結，所以在task 1起承轉合是不必要的，頭重腳輕是沒關係的，只要你確定你可以將題目裡明顯的趨勢有條理地寫下。Overview寫在最前面比寫在後面有利
首段描寫圖表有提供的內容，例如單位、附註、是哪種類型的圖表、方位.....等。把引言換句話說。
第二段和第三段詳細描述圖表內容，但不用全部的數據都描寫。挑選主要的去描寫變化和數據，其餘項目和主要項目作比較即可。
一定要比較/涵蓋數據和變化 (除了process diagrams只要單純寫步驟)
盡量變化單字，想不到同義詞，可以變化詞性 e.g. population increased rapidly (想不到 dramatically) → the population experienced a rapid increase in numbers
除了描述具體改變，也可以試著描述非具體效應(客觀陳述) e.g. more doors = more accessible。也可多使用形容詞來表示變化幅度、所佔的比例多高......等。
Overview主要歸納重大趨勢，但不見得是最明顯的 e.g. 柱狀圖可以很明顯看出最突出最多的部分，可是整體趨勢可能是越來越往上／下發展

趨勢上升：rise / increase / climb / go up / jump
趨勢下降：decrease / decline / go down / drop / slump / plummet / plunge / slip
趨勢平緩：remain / plateau（n,v）/ stable（steady）
回彈、回升：bounce back
回復平穩：level off
波動：fluctuation（n.） / fluctuate（v.）
尖峰：peak（n,v） <-> 低點：lowest point
縱軸：x-axis
橫軸：y-axis

🎤 例句：There was a plateau in sales…….＝Sales remained steady……..

＊多使用形容詞、賦詞來描述趨勢：significant / steady / dramatic / sudden / exponential（a）越來越快地

🎤 例句：There was a sudden increase in sales…….＝Sales increased dramatically……

＊在overall時，可是試著將折線圖的資料分組：哪一個資料趨勢明顯異於其他？

2.Pie Graph

🎤 例句：A makes up half of the B＝Half of the B is A＝A accounts for 50% of the total＝Fifty percent of the total is A.

形容數字

精確：exactly / precisely
大約：around / approximately / nearly / close to
多於一點：slightly above / just over
少於一點：slightly under / just under

🎤 例句：A accounts for around 42% of the total

形容佔的比例

a small fraction / a small percentage / a small proportion

🎤 A makes up a small fraction of the total at 10%＝A very small proportion is A

形容某個項目緊接著在後....

come next with 15% / follow closely with 15%

🎤 A follow as the next most popular tourist attraction with 35% of the total.

3.Bar Graph

描述兩個bar之間的相關性：

🎤例句：A is greater than B＝B had a smaller increase than A

比較的用法

compare：通常用於兩者比較起來較相似
contrast：兩者差異較大

🎤例句：In contrast, A is greater than B

🎤例句：On the contrary, A differs from B
